Perfect Oven Baked Fries

Perfect Oven Baked Fries
Recipe from Annie's Eats
Serves about 4
Ingredients:
  • 3 russet potatoes {about 24 oz. total} peeled and cut lengthwise into even pieces
  • 5 Tbsp. vegetable oil, divided {peanut or canola oil will work great too!}
  • 3/4 tsp. salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper, plus more to taste
  • 1 tsp. Lawry's seasoned salt, plus more to taste {optional}

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Place potatoes in a large mixing bowl and cover with hot water; let soak for 30 minutes.
  3. Place 4 Tbsp. of the oil in a baking sheet and tilt it back and forth until it is evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle the pan evenly with the salt, pepper, and Lawry' salt and set aside.
  5. Drain the potatoes and pat with a towel until dry.
  6. Place the potatoes back in the bowl {dry it out first} and coat with the remaining Tbsp. of oil.
  7. Place the potatoes on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  8. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 5 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and continue baking for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are spotty brown, rotating the baking sheet after 10 minutes.
  10. With a spatula, flip potatoes, making sure to keep them in a single layer.
  11. Continue baking for another 10-15 minutes until potatoes are crisp and golden.
  12. If needed, add additional salt and pepper and serve warm.
